A little about me

John is a licensed pilot with 550 hours of experience. He was a previously licensed contractor, insurance adjuster and development blue card holder.

John began his land development experience in 1984 in Alpharetta, Georgia working with Max Johnson Properties, Inc.. He also worked with Merritt Properties, Inc. for the development of subdivisions and office parks. In 1985, American Mini-Storage, Inc. was formed and over the next 4 years they developed 9 self-storage facilities along with corresponding strip shopping centers in 6 Atlanta metro counties.

In 1989 John moved to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands to do consulting for repairs in the wake of Hurricane Hugo and to rebuild churches and high-end homes. He also did development consulting in the Caribbean for other developments. In 1992 he began construction and consulting after Hurricane Andrew and had a contractor’s license and an insurance adjuster license in Florida.

John returned to Atlanta in 1994 and took charge of land acquisition and entitlements for Bock Homes, Inc. and in 1995 they were the 7th largest home builder in Atlanta. He annexed, zoned, land planned and prepared for development over 2000 lots in 6 years.

In 1996 John formed Profile Group, Inc. with Bruce Snead and developed and partnered to develop in Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio, Jamaica, the Bahamas and in Peru. Together, Bruce and John oversaw about $250 million in development between 1995 and 2007. They took part in over 28 corporations, 20 subdivisions for single family lots, 3 senior living neighborhoods, 2 lakefront condo projects, 9 self-storage facilities, 5 shopping centers, 4 office parks, 3 daycare centers, 4 churches and various other projects.

Between 2011 and 2016 John owned a company in Florida that assisted condo and homeowner associations with properties that were stuck in foreclosure limbo. He created a program that allowed the HOA’s to get paid and he took title to over 200 properties in 3 years. He created a revenue stream that repaid the associations and relieved the title holders from a serious personal liability. The total value of the properties was approximately $60 million, but during the time he reformed the properties they were in a negative equity position of more than $15 million.

He stills owns and manages a number of properties in the Florida panhandle.

Since 2016 John has been in Atlanta providing development consulting and has helped form 3 specific development strategies to help competent builders become developers who are growing inside of a well-defined strategy that is balanced and sustainable.

In 2020 John began a substantial development in Sevierville, Tennessee in a financial partnership with an equity firm in Atlanta. The development features over 2 miles of lake frontage on Douglas Lake. The project is called Lake Haven and now includes over 3 miles of roads and many houses with lake and mountain views. The project will have over $200 million in sales before completion. He is also part of a cabin development in Pigeon Forge, TN with over 100 lots and cabins.

John is also an owner and consultant for 3 other developments consisting of land for over 700 lots in Alabama and Tennessee. Lake Haven on Douglas Lake, Sevierville, TN.

In January of 2022, John Moore and Jeff Hutcheson began a new venture that capitalizes on John’s four decades of experience. The company’s mission is to take people and ventures from where they
